Heather Christensen, LPC (she/her)

I’m endlessly curious, passionate about personal and collective liberation, and a vegan ice cream connoisseur. Kindness is my creed.

I’m the person at the party having deep conversations with a few versus small talk with many. I care and listen deeply. I want to know what makes you tick, how you see the world, and how I can use that knowledge to support you in becoming the version of yourself you want to be.

I believe all people are incredibly resilient and creative, and yet, we all get stuck at times.

Sometimes change is a choice, and other times we are blindsided by life.

Regardless of what leads to a shift for you, having a compassionate ally on the journey can make all the difference. I’m not immune to struggle or disappointment in my own life, and see my work as part change expert and part companion. Simply another human being coming alongside you to help you process, make peace with, or initiate steps towards a bigger transition that leads to less suffering, and more joy.

On the journey, I won’t be passive.

Change happens when we engage in different ways with the people in our lives, starting in the therapy room. My approach is rooted in experiential and mindfulness practices, which leads me to be interested in the relationship between us and how it might be a microcosm of how you show up in life in general. What occurs in the space between us, in the here and now, is the ideal place to experiment with new ways of being, feeling, and relating.

Ultimately, you’re the expert on your life, a unique individual with experiences which shape who you are and how you see the world. I’m an expert on change. Together, we’ll collaborate to create a plan for healing and growth based on your needs.

When I’m not in my therapist seat, I’m traveling and engaging with people from other cultures, reading voraciously about topics from neuroscience, history, social justice theory and beyond, exploring in nature, and trying to find moments of awe and connection in both the everyday and the extraordinary.
