The Practical Stuff

Fees, Insurance

My fee is $150 for individual sessions, which are 50 minutes in duration. I am currently in-network with most United/Optum, Aetna, and Kaiser insurance plans. For clients with coverage through any other insurance provider, I cannot bill your insurance directly, but can provide you with receipts for our sessions which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You will need to contact your insurance company to find out what your coverage is for an “out-of-network” provider.

Making therapy accessible is important to me, and I do have a number of reduced fee spots available for students and those in need, but they are currently full. Please reach out if you’d like to join the waiting list for a reduced fee slot. Alternatively, the following list of counseling centers provide therapy on a sliding scale.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

Intake Process

When you request a consultation on this website (link below or in the header of each page), I will respond to your request within 24-hours Monday-Friday.

Once we find a time for a consultation (often within the next couple of days to a week after reaching out, depending on our schedules), we will connect via phone call. I will ask you to share more about what you’re looking for support around, previous counseling experiences (if any), and will provide you an opportunity to ask me questions about my style and approach.

If it feels like a good fit, we will move on to scheduling a first virtual session.

Telehealth/Online sessions

I offer online/telehealth sessions to anyone residing in Colorado. The pandemic opened up this option, and many clients continue to choose online therapy for convenience or scheduling reasons. I use a secure video platform for sessions to ensure confidentiality.
